Maple Ridge began with a few perennial borders and a kitchen garden — a place to grow flowers to brighten our days, vegetables and herbs to nourish us, and as a source of photographic content for my recipe website, I Breathe I’m Hungry.

I’ve always loved the process of nurturing something from the soil up — the patience, the payoff, the quiet satisfaction of creating something both beautiful and useful.

Then came the dahlias. What started as a few tubers tucked among my roses quickly grew into a full-blown love affair. Their endless colors, forms, and incredible beauty captivated me from the start.

Before long, my backyard hobby became a passion project… and then an actual, legitimate, licensed, and inspected New York farm.

Today, Maple Ridge grows cut flowers in New York’s Hudson Valley, specializing in dahlias but also offering local annuals and perennials to florists and designers.

Every bloom and tuber that leaves our farm has been thoughtfully planted, mindfully tended, and carefully harvested by hand — grown for gardeners, brides, florists, and dreamers who believe beauty is always worth the effort.

Because whether it’s in the kitchen or the garden, creating something beautiful and sharing it with others has always been at the heart of what I do.
